      English

New 2024:This English resource has been written to follow the Australian Curriculum V9, the NSW Syllabus English (2023) and the ideas of Charlotte Mason. It also draws inspiration from The Writing Revolution and the Hochman method of teaching writing. All of this has been adapted to suit homeschoolers. It is a simple straightforward curriculum that cuts out the busy work and gets children writing, reading and thinking. My Homeschool English is simple to teach as it requires minimal preparation. You will need to be present to start a lesson as there is a lot of teacher/student interaction. In most cases one lesson shall represent one day’s work.

A simple beginners cursive resource that practices all the letters of the alphabet which is done for two weeks. Then children progress to our Downunder Copywork 2 handwriting resource which uses quality Australian and New Zealand literature passages.

      • Novel: Greek Myths or Classic Readers (We'll give you some choices).

      Science and Nature

This is a charming little science story book that shares the secret lives of insects through the conversations of two children and their parents. Someone once said that Nature is God’s second book and as you read through these pages there are many examples in nature that remind us how amazing this world really is! In most cases, after you read the story, a field trip to find these bugs and insects only requires you to step out into a nearby garden. My Backyard Nature Journal complements this resource with notebooking exercises related to each lesson.

      • Own Choice Maths Curriculum

My Homeschool don’t provide a mathematics program from Year 3 onwards. We know that parents want to pick a program that suits their child’s ability and is also easy and affordable for parents to teach. There are many maths programs around recommended for home educators and whilst we haven’t used them all in our own homeschools, we have used quite a few. Here are the main three recommended programs we suggest:
            - Maths Online (we give you a 50 % discount)

            - Pr1me Maths (we give you a 10%)

            - Singapore Maths

      History, Geography & Civics

We cover world history once per week. In Year 3 it is from Alexander the Great to William the Conqueror.

      • Australian History and Civics is covered in Term Two with our Australian Flag Lapbook.
      • Geography is covered in Term 3 & 4 with our Exploring Downunder ebook.
